Plenary Meeting
to approve degree candidates
December 9, 2019
10:00 a.m.
McMurtry Auditorium, Duncan Hall

Faculty Senate Speaker Chris Johns-Krull called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. and thanked everyone for coming. He then called Dean of Undergraduates Bridget Gorman to come forward. Dean Gorman said that the Office of the Registrar had prepared the list of December 2019 undergraduate degree candidates and the names were listed in the booklets distributed prior to the meeting. The totals, by degree, were also listed on the screen. Please view the slides on the Senate website. Gorman said that the students listed were on target to graduate and the list was being put forward conditionally. She said there were not any proposed exceptions.

Johns-Krull said the dean’s endorsement came as a motion, and the motion to approve the candidates was seconded. He asked if there were any questions and there were not. The faculty present voted unanimously to approve the candidates for graduation.

Johns-Krull then called Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Seiichi Matsuda to the podium. Dean Matsuda said that the Office of the Registrar had prepared a list of December 2019 advanced degree candidates and the names were listed in the booklets distributed prior to the meeting. The totals, by degree, were also listed on the screen. Please view the slides on the Senate website.  Matsuda said the candidates were on target to complete the graduation requirements for their admitted program. He said the official list was being put forward conditionally, and there were no exceptions.
